Each autumn stands of aspen throughout the mountains turn gold and orange crimson. In the Rocky Mountain National Park area, it's small drops of gold in the vast oceans of the olive greens of the pine. And, it's always far too soon between when the aspen leaves turn and they drop away. For all that though, the leaves are all that much more brilliant.
