Rocky Mountain National Park is located in north-central Colorado, just to the west of Estes Park, Colorado. The national park is known for its bighorn sheep, huge herds of elk or wapiti, and its majestic mountains as it sits astride the Continental Divide. Chief among these mountains is its highest, Longs Peak, 14,259 feet above sea level.
Estes Park is a popular resort town, mainly during the summer, though it's also well visited during the other seasons--winter for its snowshoeing and crosscountry skiing, fall for watching the elk rutting season and autumnal colors and spring, well, spring is when life returns to the meadows and the nearby waterfalls break loose from their icy confines. |

Welcome to my website, the online home of my photos.
It may seem to be an odd visual portmanteau of this and that, mountains and plains, but there you go. A native of the Chicago area, I lived in Colorado for ten years and, in the midst of everything else, took a ton of photos. WIthin this site are a sampling of those photos, taken during hundreds of hikes and wanderings.
I've moved back home to be closer to family and to go back to school for my bachelors, thus with it the subject matter of my photos are taking a shift. Scenes from Chicago, from the farmlands, from the woods, these are making more of an appearance in my photography, and thus are going to be increasingly represented here.
Though I've been working with the camera and the tools provided by Photoshop and other computer programs, I'm still experimenting and trying different styles. On these pages you'll see photos from the straight forward to the heavily pushed with filters, even to the point of the playful distortions of the Lil' Planets. Some of these photos are more successful than others, but I think having a variety of approaches is as important as a variety of subjects.
Thanks.
